Little Eyes Sensory was born from three important parts of my life: my career as an optometrist, my experience as a mum and being Punjabi.
As I raise my two children, I want them to grow up seeing their culture represented in the world around them. I want them to hear Punjabi words, recognise familiar cultural images and feel connected to their roots from the very beginning.
That desire has become an important part of Little Eyes Sensory.
Representation from the very beginning
I believe our children should grow up feeling proud of where they come from. They should see their language, traditions and everyday experiences reflected in the books, toys and products they use.
This inspired me to create our Punjabi sensory flashcards, giving families a fun and meaningful way to introduce Punjabi language and culture through play.
The cards aren’t only about learning new words. They can create moments of connection between babies, parents, grandparents and older siblings. They can encourage conversations, stories and memories that help children understand their identity as they grow.
Little Eyes Sensory is proudly a South Asian owned brand, but it is a brand for everyone to spread our culture.
Being inclusive means celebrating our own culture while welcoming all families to learn, play and feel part of the Little Eyes community.
Our wider range of sensory muslins and flashcards is designed for babies and families from every background. South Asian representation is a meaningful part of our story but it doesn’t limit who the brand is for.
My hope is that my children will grow up aware of their roots and proud of their heritage, while also understanding that the world is full of different cultures, languages and family stories worth celebrating.
Little Eyes Sensory brings together optometry, motherhood, culture and inclusive play, created for my children, inspired by our roots and made for every family. So many more products coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled!
Lots of love,
Harita
